The nominees for the 90th Academy Awards were announced• Tuesday morning, and Guillermo del Toro's The Shape of Waters received the most love from the Academy.
The sci-fi love story picked up 13 nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director. Greta Gerwig was also nominated for Best Director and received a nod for Original Screenplay.
Nine films were nominated for Best Picture, including Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, The Post and Get Out. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri is the initial frontrunner because of its wins at the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Golden Globes.
