The coronavirus death toll has reached 811 in China, which is higher than the death toll of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, better known as SARS, outbreak between 2002 and 2003.
SARS was responsible for 774 deaths, according to data recorded by the World Health Organization. 8,096 people were infected by SARS worldwide, and more than 34,000 people in China have been infected by the coronavirus.
Officials said at least 288 other cases of the virus have been reported across two dozen other countries, according to NPR.
