After coming off a solid performance Saturday at the Doug Raymond Invitational, where three Bobcats picked up event victories and multiple other Bobcats had high finishes, Ohio will return to action Friday at Youngstown State in the Youngstown State Invitational.
The events at the Doug Raymond Invitational featured athletes from Youngstown State, so both teams will be familiar with each other, which is important with this meet coming less than a week after the Invitational.
The Bobcats are going to look for the same strong performances they got last Saturday, where they earned event victories coming from Oliva Mayfield in the long jump, Emily Deering in the 800 meters and Alyssa Atkinson in the 3000 meters.
Ohio will also look for the same high finishes it got from Christina Seas, Emily Cass and Madison Sury, who all finished in the top 10 in the 3000 meter event.
The Bobcats will need a bounce back performance from Emma Ryan who finished second in the weight throw at Marshall back in December, but finished seventh in the same event last Saturday.
Youngstown State is coming into Friday with some momentum as well, after winning two events and having four, top three finishes in events during the Doug Raymond Invitational.
With the Youngstown State Invitational coming Friday, this will be a quick turnaround for both the Bobcats and Penguins, so it will be important to see who can recover, and prepare, quicker when they turn it around on Friday.
