As the six-month anniversary of the shooting that took the life of Ohio University senior Terris Ross approaches, family members are planning a protest to get the word out that this still is a high priority case.
The demonstration will take place at The College Gate from 11:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Sept 9, the six-month anniversary of Ross' death.
In a letter Angel Ross, who was engaged to Terris and gave birth to his daughter June 16, 2003, wrote that she hopes the event will get word out and emphasize the reporting of tips to the Athens Police and/or Crime Solvers of Athens.
The case still is under investigation. Athens Police Chief Rick Mayer could not confirm or deny any issues dealing with suspects or identify any possible time that an arrest could be made. He did say students leaving Athens for the summer did not slow the investigation.
County Prosecutor C. David Warren said he might speak at the rally and make an announcement about the investigation and what the public can do.
