A search committee chose education college professor David Moore to fill the spot.
Ohio University’s Board of Trustees has selected its new secretary.
A search committee selected David Moore, a professor in the Patton College of Education, to replace Peter Mather as secretary, President Roderick McDavis announced in an email Wednesday.
“He brings a deep understanding of higher education, university administration, organizational communication and leadership,” McDavis said of Moore. “In addition, his eight years of esteemed service in the United States Naval Reserve will be an organizational asset in his position as secretary to the board.”
Moore, an OU faculty member for 12 years, will continue to serve as a part-time faculty member.
At the June 26 Board of Trustees meeting, McDavis presented Mather with a Certificate of Appreciation for his work as secretary.
