Coming off two consecutive tough losses against Buffalo and Ball State, Ohio (7-13, 4-6 Mid-American Conference) needs to get back on track against Bowling Green (11-9, 5-5 MAC). The Bobcats will enter the matchup having played their last few games depleted. They’ve been able to push their remaining players, getting career games from their star-studded freshmen, but it has not been enough to match some of the MAC’s top contenders.

As previously mentioned, Bowling Green’s offense is the main point of note for Ohio to keep track of. Other than Ball State, it boasts one of the best offenses in the MAC, with a bevy of outside shooters Ohio will need to be aware of.
While somewhat undersized, the Falcons’ inside scorers are remarkably efficient, making it hard to cut off just the interior or outside game as they will kill their opponent with the one they aren’t getting taken away. The Bobcats will have a great chance to get back on track in conference play against the Falcons, but keeping up on offense while competing for all 40 minutes defensively will be crucial.

Velasco is the primary playmaker for the Falcons, coming in second among the team’s available players in scoring and first in assists. Her 4.7 assists per game mark sits at fourth in the MAC and she presents a dynamic and efficient threat from the outside as a 40% shooter from three.
