Despite previously being the sole finalist for the chancellor position at the University of Colorado Denver, Executive Vice President and Provost Pam Benoit is no longer being considered for the job.
Pam Benoit, Ohio University's executive vice president and provost, is no longer in the running for the chancellor position at the University of Colorado Denver despite previously being the sole finalist for the position.
CU Denver President Bruce Benson said the university couldn’t find a candidate with “vast support” and will continue to search for a new chancellor, according to a CU Denver news release.
“Provost Benoit has explored other opportunities this spring but has decided to remain at Ohio University,” Laura Myers, Benoit’s chief of staff, said in an email.
CU Denver selected Benoit as the sole finalist for chancellor and interviewed her for the position in late April, according to a previous Post report.
“This position is critical for the campus and we must do our best to ensure that we have the right person leading CU Denver,” Benson said in the news release. “We must work to keep the momentum going and finding the right leader is critical to the future of the campus.”

Benson said CU will start a new search process for the chancellor position in the fall.
Although Benoit won't be leaving for Colorado, she is still one of four finalists for the chancellor position at University of Southern Illinois Carbondale.

SIU hopes to choose a new chancellor before the beginning of the fall semester, according to a previous Post report.
Benoit has worked at OU since 2009 and earned $287,466 in the 2014-15 academic year.
