Zoe Fine Dining, located at 24 ½ E. State St., announced Wednesday on its Instagram and Facebook pages it has officially closed.
New ownership was also handed over Wednesday, according to Zoe’s Instagram post.
The restaurant was known for its unique spin on American-styled dishes, making all its food from scratch using fresh and local ingredients.
Zoe opened in 2004 in Eclipse Company Town, then in 2008, it moved to the Athens uptown location.
The posts encouraged people to comment on a favorite memory or meal shared at the restaurant.
“Came here for numerous parent’s weekends and dates through the years,“ a user commented on the Instagram post. "Always such a special meal, thank you.”
With the closing of Zoe, it is one less fine-dining option to offer people in the Athens area.
