Student Senate: Body will hear from Baker Center director and VP for finance and administration

At Ohio University Student Senate’s Wednesday night meeting, the body will hear from two speakers and discuss resolutions that buy pizza for several events and amend chapters of the senate rules and procedures.

The events include "Get Yourself Tested" and a FAFSA information session. Senate will discuss editing chapters 1, 2 and 3 of the senate rules and procedures.

The Senate will also have two speakers, Executive Director of Baker Center Dustin Kilgour, and Vice President for Finance and Administration Deb Shaffer.

Kilgour will speak about the Baker Food Pantry and other initiatives on campus to combat food insecurity.

Shaffer will give a presentation about how the university budgets.

“The most important part of any (presenter’s) presentation to Senate (is) to not only inform us about what they're doing to make the lives of students better but the action items that get established,” Student Senate President Landen Lama said in an email. “Senators are able to call on administrators to do things and administrators are able to ask senators to help them in their projects.”
