As a 1975 graduate of Ohio University and a teacher in the School of Communication Studies for three years, I am shocked and saddened to read of the termination of delfin bautista. delfin was a regular speaker in my classes every semester and they accepted the invitation without hesitation.
They were a continued supporter of the university's students regardless of their sex, gender, gender identity or gender expression. delfin served students. In particular, they were a resource and empathetic counselor for the school's LGBTQ students. delfin reached many a student at OU. delfin's termination causes me pause for thought as to whether or not the leadership of Ohio University understands inclusion and equity.
