Seniors Meredith Ashy and Abby Gilleland have been named First Team All Mid-American Conference, the league announced Thursday.

This is Ashy’s third All-MAC selection, as she was honored in 2012 and 2014. She was also named Co-Freshman of the year in 2012. Ashy, the program’s all-team leader in digs, leads the team this year with 543.

Gilleland also earns her third All-MAC selection, garnering her honors in 2013 and 2014. Last year, Gilleland was named Mid-American Conference Player of the Year and Setter of the Year, as well as Academic All-MAC.

Nelson is the eighth Ohio player to be named to the All-Freshman team in the past five seasons. The redshirt freshman is third on the team in blocks with 63 and also recorded 117 kills.

The Bobcats play Saturday evening in the semifinals of the MAC tournament.
