Classes in Ohio University's Ellis Hall canceled for Wednesday before 5 p.m.

The move was made because of hot temperatures in the building.

Ohio University announced in a special alert Tuesday night that classes in Ellis Hall would be canceled Wednesday until 5 p.m.

The move was made in response to the university's "inability to manage" hot building temperatures, according to the alert.

Classes and activities that begin after 5 p.m. Wednesday will continue as planned, according to the alert.

OU plans to issue a progress update Wednesday at noon. Faculty and staff are not expected to report to Ellis during the closed hours, but custodial staff are.
