Ohio University students, faculty and staff might have experienced difficulty accessing the Internet Thursday due to problems with the university's Wi-Fi.
Sean O'Malley, spokesman for the Office of Information Technology, said OIT troubleshot a "major issue" in the university's data center that affected several online services, including the wireless network and Blackboard.
The outage began about 11:45 a.m. and continued until OIT fixed the problem at about 2:30 p.m.

"After changes were completed in the data center, services began coming back online at approximately 2:30 p.m.," O'Malley said in an email. "At this point, all systems are stable."
O'Malley said OIT will continue to monitor the problem closely.
The university last experienced major Wi-Fi problems in late August and early September as a result of 17,000 more devices being on campus than the year before.
On Sept. 4, OIT installed backup equipment that O'Malley said would prevent further Wi-Fi problems, according to a previous Post report.
Systems have been stable since 2:30p. Report lingering @ohiou IT issues at 740-593-1222 or https://t.co/I9KZCdM7lr
