After a threat from a parent, a Megis County elementary school is on lockdown.
Meigs Primary School, in Middleport, was put on lockdown Wednesday after a student’s stepfather called and made a threat last night, said Meigs County Sheriff’s Deputy Scott Trussell.
“It was a domestic call. If the stepfather was to call the school asking to pick up his kid, he isn’t allowed,” Trussell said, adding it was the schools decision to go on lockdown.
The Sheriff’s office was not involved in the lockdown. Trussell said the threat was nothing more than an “accusation.”
The school is still on lockdown and it is unknown when it will be lifted, according to a spokesperson from the Meigs County Superintendent’s office.
