The last of four men charged with beating and robbing an elderly woman in January pleaded guilty last week.
Brandon Baker, 20, pleaded guilty as a part of a plea agreement with the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office on Feb. 14.
Baker’s plea agreement did not provide a suggested sentence. Baker’s attorney and the prosecutor will provide pre-sentencing reports at his sentencing hearing April 18 at 10 a.m.
Baker, of Coolville, pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated burglary, two counts of robbery, two counts of felonious assault, two counts of kidnapping, one count of attempted murder, one count of abduction, one count of tampering with evidence, one count of theft of drugs, one count of theft from the elderly and one count of theft.
The charges stem from a Jan. 24 incident when Baker; Christopher Fleming, 21; Colin Stout, 20; and Cody Stout, 23, drove to an 82-year-old woman’s Coolville residence.
Colin Stout and one of the other men entered the house, severely beat the woman, stabbed her and stole items from her home, according to court documents.
The victim was disoriented for several hours after the event. A few hours later, she was able to call 911 and was transported to Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg before going to a Columbus hospital for months of rehabilitation.
As part of the agreement, Baker could be sentenced to a maximum of 102 years and six months in prison and a maximum fine of $200,000.
Fleming, Colin Stout and Cody Stout have also taken plea agreements. Fleming and Cody Stout were sentenced to nine years and nine months in prison. Colin Stout was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Baker is currently being held at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail on $100,000 bond.
