Dads love college. It’s an environment that puts them back in the good old days of Def Leppard and Van Halen.
Aside from the designated dad events, several entertainment venues Uptown are also catering to the influx of dads. The Venue of Drxvms is hosting The Werks, a band from Dayton, with Peridoni, a band from Cincinnati, on Friday.
The Athena Cinema is screening the dad-classic film The Blues Brothers on Friday and Saturday. People can pair their fatherly reunions with Jake and Elwood’s attempt to reunite their band.
For all the ex-jock dads, the hockey team will play on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. against Michigan-Dearborn. The men and women’s basketball teams also have games on Saturday, as does the volleyball team.
To send their dads off, students can check out Jackie O’s Sunday Funday: Pre-Apocalypse Party. The name is a reference to the election taking place two days after.
Regardless of how students choose to spend the weekend with their dads, the dads will most likely find fulfillment spending it with their kids. Isn’t that what family means, anyway?
