Although he originally pleaded innocent, a Nelsonville man pleaded guilty to one count of robbery Tuesday, a felony of the second degree.
Tyler Brown, whose age is not listed in court documents, could face a maximum prison term of eight years, according to the Ohio Revised Code, in addition to paying a possible fine $15,000.
Brown is also not allowed contact with his accomplice, Lisa Wisor, also charged with one count of theft, or the victim.
Athens County Prosecutor Keller Blackburn said in an email that Brown and Wisor were trying to steal money from the victim and that Wisor set the victim up to be robbed.
Wisor, 39, pleaded not guilty to the indictment at her Jan. 31 arraignment and set on a $150,000 bond, according to court documents. She pleaded guilty Mar. 21.
Brown and Wisor were released on recognizance and will have sentencing hearings April 23.
Until then, they are ordered to remain in Ohio and avoid drug and alcohol use, according to court documents.
