A fire broke out on a West Union Street property Friday night, causing an estimated $75,000 in damages, according to a news release from the Athens Fire Department.
The five occupants of the property, 310 W. Union St., were displaced and no one was injured, according to the release.
According to the release, the fire started at about 11:40 p.m. Friday. Firefighters brought the blaze under control by 2 a.m. Saturday.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Athens Fire Department.
