Internet-famous political satirist and presidential candidate Vermin Supreme visited the Athens courthouse Friday to promise students free ponies and mandatory toothbrushing. Supreme is a perennial presidential candidate and has run as an independent Republican, Democrat and most recently as a Libertarian in 2020. His speeches consist mostly of nonsense and so do his outfits. Friday, Supreme donned his famous boot on the head, a blue T-shirt, jeans, a sparkly American vest that had seen considerable wear, about six or seven ties and a green, white and purple tutu. Libby's Bouquet Bar on Union Street

Libby is a junior here at Ohio University. She owns Libby's Pumpkin Patch, but due to the drought in southeast Ohio, she was not able to open this year. Instead, she created Libby's Bouquet Bar, a flower cart she parks on Union Street. Her father says the cart has been very popular and people especially love making their own bouquets. 2024 election watch parties in Athens

As the election results continue to come in throughout the night, there are different watch parties being held in Athens. The Center for Student Engagement and Leadership held a non-partisan watch party in Baker for students, and the Athens County Democratic Organization held one at Pigskin.
