Nov. 30, 2021University mandates for undergraduates returning to campus, a city-wide power outage, numerous protests, the push for vaccines and an attempt at a transition to normalcy through public gatherings, full stands at sports stadiums, vaccine cards checked at concerts, getting the word out for voting on Election Day and celebrating religious holidays has transformed Ohio University’s and the City of Athens’ course of history. The world has been forced to adapt to a major shift in how society operates on an intimate scale; honing in on a region’s community has shown how urban, suburban and rural areas alike have adjusted to a year of dramatic change. The Post photographers have captured this change of tide that reflects how we adjust to change without warning.
