Softball: What to know for Toledo

Ohio (25-10, 8-2 Mid-American Conference) will return to its home field this Friday to play in a three-game series against Toledo (10-22, 3-8 MAC). The first game will be played Friday afternoon and the remaining two games will be played in a Saturday doubleheader.

The Bobcats are coming off a split doubleheader versus Akron last Friday on the road. Meanwhile, the Rockets recently were victorious in a doubleheader sweep against Michigan State, also last Friday in Toledo.

Toledo may be on a winning streak, but Ohio has shown to be one of the elite teams in the MAC. Here is everything you need to know prior to the Bobcats facing off against the Rockets beginning this Friday.

Toledo notes

This season, the Rockets are at a clear disadvantage in many areas compared to the Bobcats. Their top statistical leaders in all of the major categories are only shared by two players except for hits, which is currently led by senior Kendra VanderLugt.

Luckily for the Bobcats, they have many weapons in both the batting and pitching departments. Plus, they have a home-field advantage over Toledo. Like many instances this season, Ohio will have a prime opportunity to improve its MAC record this weekend in pursuit of a championship.
