The Ohio University Police Department is investigating an unattended death reported around 9:30 p.m. Saturday in Bryan Hall.
According to a press release, OUPD believes the death does not pose a threat to the safety of the community.
In a message to the university community, Dean of Students Kathy Fahl expressed condolences and encouraged students and staff to utilize the mental health and support resources available through Counseling and Psychological Services, the Employee Assistance Program and national hotlines, such as 988.
Students in need of urgent support can call CPS 24/7 at 740-593-1616, drop in at Hudson Health Center on weekdays from 9:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. or attend "Let’s Talk" sessions this week from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Living Learning Center, Room 160.
Faculty and staff can access free, confidential services through the Impact Employee Assistance Program by visiting the website or calling 800-227-6007.
