Young female artists are skyrocketing in the music scene. Tate McRae recently released her third album Feb. 21, and Sabrina Carpenter just began the European leg of the “Short n’ Sweet” tour. Doechii won her first Grammy and is headlining alongside Carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo at Lollapalooza this summer. Chappell Roan also continues to express her creative art through her new single. Young female musicians are the present and future of music as they demonstrate feminine confidence overlapping with talent.
McRae has proven to be a hardworking 21-year-old with immense talent. She created her third album, “So Close to What,” while on tour for her sophomore album, “Think Later.” Her work effort and stage presence allow her to stand out while taking people back to the early 2000s peak of pop. She makes sure to show her dance skills alongside her vocal talents on stage and in music videos. Her new album is still sitting high on the Billboard 200 album list and she knows how to persevere as a young woman in the spotlight.
Carpenter has been creating music for years, but 2024 was definitely her year. She won two Grammys this past year and is continuing a major tour. Her tour outfits and poses continue to be a major spectacle on social media and she continues to provide a glimpse into her humor and glamorous style. She gave an even deeper look into her creative mind by releasing the deluxe version of her album, “Short n’ Sweet,” on Feb. 14, which featured Dolly Parton.
On March 13, Chappell Roan released her “lesbian country song,” “The Giver.” The song is another example of how she stands out, and she described how the song is meant to capture what she thinks the “essence” of country music is. People continue to await her album, even though she said it is a bit farther down the line.
Doechii is probably the artist with some of the biggest growth this past year. She was the third woman to ever win a Grammy for Best Rap Album for her album, “Alligator Bites Never Heal,” released in August 2024. Her song “DENIAL IS A RIVER” feels like listening to a whole interaction and she knows how to create songs that sound like nothing anyone has heard before.
However, she also knows how to take already created songs and make them her own. Her song “Anxiety” samples from “Somebody That I Used to Know” and is a musical masterpiece. The song has an addicting sound while engaging her powerful vocal skills. Her performances are also a spectacle, especially at the Grammys when she seemed to leave the crowd shocked as she brought so much creativity onto the stage. Doechii embraces who she is unapologetically.
It is important for women and girls to have others to look up to. These women in the music industry are only a few of the many who show women can be young and successful while being themselves. Whether creativity is expressed through dance, fashion or lyrics, women can do it all.
Young female artists are bringing the music world to life at an impressive rate. They have different images, but each of them exudes femininity and confidence in their own way. They are bringing pop music back into full swing and showing their talent in performances as well as their lyrics.
