It took Ohio (5-13, 1-5 Mid-American Conference) six games, but against Central Michigan Saturday, it secured its first MAC win of the season. In its last game, the offense dominated, scoring 7 crucial seventh-inning runs to dig itself out of the 10-2 hole it found itself in.
Against a struggling but talented Dayton team with a 2-2 record against MAC teams this season, Ohio will have to play with consistency on both sides to get a win Tuesday afternoon.

Ohio notes
The Bobcats secured a win in their last Tuesday matchup through their most explosive hitting game of the year. The game against Morehead State, which finished 20-17, was the first start for freshman righty Julian Robertson and saw Ohio briefly give up an 11-0 lead it achieved in the top of the first.
Dayton is a better team than Morehead State, and Ohio’s pitching staff will need to be prepared for that. If Ohio coach Craig Moore chooses to lead off with Robertson, hopes for a defensive turnaround will start with the freshman. Entering the game, Ohio ranks second-worst in the MAC in hits and runs allowed.
Its offense has proven it can keep up, but with the highest slugging percentage, second-highest batting average, most home runs and second-most hits in the MAC, keeping up should be the bare minimum.
Player to watch: Michael DiMartini
DiMartini, a sophomore who plays all over, is one of the most prolific hitters Ohio will face this season. His batting average of .430 and 34 hits rank among the best in the nation. At the top of the Flyers’ batting order, Robertson, or whoever Moore rolls out on the mound in the first inning, will have a challenge ahead with DiMartini and his 14-game hitting streak.
