Women’s Basketball: Everything to know before Ohio takes on Central Michigan

Ohio (4-16, 2-8 Mid-American Conference) will play Central Michigan (8-13, 4-6 MAC) in Mount Pleasant Wednesday.

The Chippewas are hosting a game with a National Girls and Women in Sports Day theme, during which they will pass out pompoms and pink “3” cards to fans. Central Michigan will also present facts about women and girls in sports, as well as breast cancer awareness, on the video board in McGuirk Arena.

The Bobcats are coming off of a tough loss against the RedHawks with one conference matchup left before a break in the MAC action. Last season the Bobcats took a win over the Chippewas by a score of 77-63.

Central Michigan notes

Central Michigan played Bowling Green last Saturday and took the loss after gaining a brief lead with two minutes left. The Falcons pulled out a 10-2 run to win the game making the score 76-69. Morson, a consistent shooter, dropped 23 points while Lawson had 20 points and eleven rebounds. Both will be players to watch Wednesday.

Player to watch: Bailey Tabeling

With the pace Central Michigan looks to be playing at, Bailey Tabeling will be an asset to Ohio staying in the game. Tabeling is the second leading scorer for Ohio and has the highest standing 3-point attempts average on the court; her drive to take shots keeps Ohio’s intensity up and will be necessary to keep up with CMU’s pace.
