Men's Basketball: What to know for a rematch with Western Michigan

Ohio (15-12, 9-5 Mid-American Conference) is coming off potentially the most significant win any MAC team has had this season. After snapping Akron’s 14-win gaming streak and clinching its spot in the upcoming MAC Tournament, Ohio will now travel to Western Michigan (9-18, 6-8 MAC), looking to carry its momentum through the rest of the season.

Western Michigan will try to defend its home court and desperately hold on to a spot in the MAC Tournament. Ohio has struggled to play on the road all season, holding just a 3-8 record when playing away from The Convo.

Ohio decimated Western Michigan 94-69 earlier this month in a game where five Ohio players scored in double figures. Coming off such a big offensive night against Akron, Ohio might be primed for another scoring outburst.

Player to watch for Western Michigan: Chancey Willis

The last time Ohio played Western Michigan, not many players had success for the Broncos. A bulk of the team’s scoring came at the hands of guard Chancey Willis Jr., who contributed 20 points, five rebounds and five assists. Willis has been the most productive Bronco all season, producing 16 points per game while also being the team's leader in assists. When Western Michigan wins big, Willis is often the frontman leading the Broncos to victory.
