Miami notes
The first time these two teams faced off this season saw a dominant performance from Miami. Ohio was held to a season low 34 points in Millett Hall after an abysmal day shooting the ball. Ohio shot just 23.6% from the floor and 18.2% from three, while Miami shot over 50% from the floor and 38.5% from three.
Since that game, Miami has won four of its five games, with the only loss coming against Buffalo at home. The biggest win in that stretch was against a Kent State team that had already clinched a spot in Cleveland. Miami has been on a roll recently and will be coming into The Convo with some serious momentum.
Player to Watch: Enjulina Gonzalez
This season, after coming up north from Mercer the year prior, Gonzalez has flourished, leading Miami in both points per game and minutes per game. Her scoring comes at an efficient clip, as she shoots 47.5% from the floor and 44.3% from deep.
She was able to torch Ohio in her first matchup against the Bobcats, going for 23 points on 10-of-16 shooting, along with four steals and six rebounds. She will be in the running for both MAC Player of the Year, as well as First Team all-MAC.
