Bowling Green Notes
The Falcons are on a four-game win streak heading into this game as they look to head into Cleveland with some momentum for the MAC tournament. Second-year coach Fred Chmiel has done a tremendous job with the Falcons since coming from the South Carolina dynasty, and his star player Amy Velasco is a player who can single-handedly win games in March. It will be a tough game for Ohio but with the Bobcats’ momentum, anything can happen on Wednesday.
Player to Watch: Amy Velasco
The senior guard from Centerville, Ohio has been on a roll this season, firmly planting herself in conversations for MAC Player of the Year, and First Team All-MAC considerations. Velasco is averaging 16 points per game to go along with 4.6 assists, both numbers lead the Falcons. She is also shooting above 40% from the field and from three, as well as an otherworldly 93.4% from the free throw line. That figure lands her at fourth in the nation for free throw percentage.
