New York Fashion Week began Feb. 6 and started out 2025 with new collections from some of fashion's most respected names. Here are some key moments:
Christian Siriano Show
Christain Siriano presented his fall 2025 collection at Chelsea Industrial with celebrity attendees such as Katie Holmes, Whoopi Goldberg, Natasha Bedingfield and Danielle Brooks sitting front row.
Siriano's show was draped in red and roses accentuating his inspiration from the “iconic red car and iconic red dress on a red carpet.” Siriano achieved his “automotive design,” featuring laminated metallics and structured fabrics that still flowed on the carpet.
Christopher John Rogers return
After 5 years absent from NYFW Christopher John Rogers made his return to the carpet with his fall 2025 collection “Collection 015: Exhale.”
Rogers' collection experimented with color and took on modern twists to wardrobe staples.
“I’m not holding my breath anymore,” Rogers said in an interview with Vogue Business. Rogers made his return to NYFW by creating a collection that is “truest” to him.
Bill Nye modeling era
Bill Nye became a viral NYFW discussion when he hit the runway wearing Thom Browne at the 9th annual Blue Jacket Fashion Show that raises money for the ZERO prostate cancer foundation.
Bill Nye had previously participated back in 2020, creating another viral sensation when he walked down the runway dancing to Lizzo. His same style of dancing and striking-a-pose was implemented in this runway walk as well.
Stacey Bendet’s pattern exploration
The Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet Fall 2025 collection “Shakespeare is in Love” explored textures and patterns on the NYFW carpet. It took inspiration from Shakespearean times, taking time to appreciate theatrical works of art.
Bendet’s collection took direct inspiration from Shakespeare's plays such as “Macbeth,” “A Midsummer Night's Dream” and “Romeo and Juliet.” Bendet perfected combining the aesthetics from the period while incorporating modern elements like miniskirts, denim and lace bodysuits into her pieces.
Brandon Maxwell celebrates 10 years
Brandon Maxwell presented his fall 2025 collection Thursday marking 10 years of business. The collection is personal to him because of this milestone and his expression of grief throughout the collection.
“With both what's going on in my life and what's going on with the world, I wanted to openly say something on the runway and in my work that felt convicted,” Maxwell said in an interview with Fashionista.
Maxwell's collection featured black and white looks that bring a refreshing look at grief as a step toward personal growth, foreshadowing a new chapter for Maxwell's art.
