Bellarmine Notes
It is still early in the college basketball season, but Bellarmine has played four games: two scrimmages and two regular season games, only the latter counting toward the official record. The Knights have won all four games, although against Division III and NAIA competition.
The closest margin of victory in those games was 27 points, and graduate student Hayley Harrison scored big numbers in those victories.
Bellarmine has not played a Division I or Division II school yet, so Sunday’s game against Ohio will be the hardest test it has faced by a wide margin.
Player to Watch: Hayley Harrison
A Kentucky native, Harrison is in her sixth year of college basketball, and her third year at Bellarmine. Before becoming a Knight, Harrison played her first three basketball seasons with UT Martin.
Harrison was elite, leading Bellarmine in points, in the two games that counted toward the team’s stats so far. Last season, she led the Knights in scoring, with 15.5 points per game, and was named to the All-ASUN third team. In last season's game against Ohio, Harrison scored 15 points in a victory.
