Women’s Basketball: What to know before Ohio takes on George Washington

Following two losses in a row, Ohio (0-2) will face off against George Washington (2-1) Saturday, looking to earn its first victory of the season. George Washington is coming off a dominant win its last time out against Virginia-Lynchburg. 

The Bobcats and the Revolutionaries have not met since Dec. 2022 when Ohio lost 74-57.

George Washinton notes

The Revolutionaries have gotten a taste of victory and defeat after three games. George Washington fell short to Howard by 3 points after looking strong and taking the lead during the third quarter. George Washington picked its head up and ran away with the win against VA-Lynchburg in dominating fashion by a final score of 89-38.

Ohio notes 

Ohio is returning to The Convo after a 32-point blowout loss versus Bellarmine. The Bobcats have struggled to find offensive consistency; they can't seem to keep the ball on their side of the court, as they had 22 turnovers in the last game. 

Bailey Tabeling and Kennedi Watkins have scored the most points for Ohio in the first couple of games. Overall, the Bobcat's shooting game is off, keeping them in the losing column. 

Player to watch 

Graduate student Makayla Andrews is a player to watch for George Washington. The guard is a key asset to George Washington’s success. Andrews averaged 13.2 points per game last season and earned Second Team All-Patriot League. Andrews helped lead George Washington to victory in its season opener with 33 points.
