Leopard print is once again back in style

Few things are certain in life: death, taxes and leopard print making its return to the fashion world.

In 1947, Christian Dior became the first designer to put leopard print on the runway. Since then, the print has been worn by major celebrities and has cemented its legacy in fashion history. In the 1990s, the print was bold, daring and worn by people looking to make a statement. In the early 2000s, the print was featured with other animal prints such as zebra in another bold trend.

Vogue declared a leopard print revival in January 2024, and the print is now a dominant fall fashion trend once again infiltrating clothing racks and returning to people’s closets all over the world.

Like many trends, leopard print has come and gone in waves, but this fall the print is presenting itself as a basic, neutral staple for every wardrobe instead of a loud, bold print. The brown and black color palette makes the print a versatile piece in any closet. Here are some of the trendiest ways to style the print in 2024.

Coats and jackets

Leopard print coats and jackets are huge for fall. From trench coats to faux fur jackets, the print adds subtle flair to fall necessities. Do not flinch at the designer price tags as leopard print coats can be done on a budget of less than $30 too.

Jeans

Jean trends are ever-changing, but leopard print jeans are here to take over this fall. With varying styles such as ankle, baggy, wide leg and skinny, there is a leopard print pair of jeans waiting in any fit or budget.

Purses

An easy way to incorporate leopard print into everyday wear is through a purse. Designer purse brands are all over the leopard print trend. Whether people are looking for an everyday bag under $20 or a special occasion purse to spice up an outfit, the leopard print purse is a perfect and simple accessory choice.

Cardigans

Cardigans are arguably the number one fall must-have. Cardigans ambush stores and closets every year, but leopard print cardigansare a focal point of fall 2024 fashion.

Leopard print cardigans are one of the simplest ways to add the print into wardrobes and come in prices for every budget.

The leopard print craze may eventually die down again, but if history is any indication, the print will come around time and time again. Christiana Stein, a personal stylist and CEO of Style by Christiana said the print is not simply a trend.

“Leopard print isn’t a trend,” Stein said in Today. “It’s a classic, it’s something that year after year makes an appearance in some way, shape or form.”
