Whenever any hockey team brings in a new head coach, there will always be a lot of questions about how the team will adjust to their new system, and how that system will get positive results on the ice.
Here are three things fans of the team could look for as Ohio begins its season.
1. Better Start: While last season was one that saw major success for Ohio, it started off the season a bit slow. Entering the month of November, Ohio was 6-6-1, which included a rough stretch where the team lost five of six. Even if the team did get over this beginning-of-the-season slump, it is still not preferable, and they would need to ensure that this season starts off better than last.
2. Returning Talent: While the Bobcats had to say goodbye to a few key players like Andrew Wells and Sam Turner, most of the team from last season is indeed returning for another season of Bobcat Hockey.
3. Momentum: While new seasons always bring new stories, new people, and fresh starts, the Bobcats will be entering this season with the momentum of their last. The team ended the year with a 25-9-3 record and performed at an outstanding level. Although the team enters the season with a new coach and a few player departures, they will always have the last season to look back on to use as motivation and momentum as this season soon begins.
