Players to Watch:
If Ohio looks to pull off one of its biggest upsets of the season, the team will look for impressive performances from Sasha Dikolta and Meela Kopp. Both players earned MAC Player of the Week honors last week. Dikolta scored a goal against both Vermont and Michigan State and contributed the game-winning assist to Natalie LaFleur against the Spartans in double overtime. On the other end of the field, Kopp helped hold opponents to a .079 shot percentage, with just three of 38 shots resulting in goals over the 2-game stretch last weekend.
Kopp will look to play near-perfect defense in an attempt to slow down Kate McLaughlin of Michigan. She recently took home Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week and for good reason. McLaughlin netted her second collegiate hat trick in he Wolverines' 5-2 win over Boston University along with adding a goal in Michigan’s 8-1 thrashing of Providence. The graduate student from Winnetka, Illinois, has five goals on the season and only needs three more goals to match her career high. Ohio will have its hands full trying to contain McLaughlin and the rest of the Wolverines.
