Ohio (3-3) has had a good season since its 0-2 start to the year. Since the Bobcat's two losses to begin the season, they have played well, losing to only No. 10 Michigan.
This Friday and Saturday, Ohio looks to continue to add more wins to its record and get above .500 for the first time.
Match Information:
Opponent: Appalachian State (3-3)
Location: Pruitt Field (Athens)
Date and Time: Friday at 12 p.m.
Appalachian State Notes:
Appalachian State is the exact opposite of Ohio, having started the season 2-0, then dropping the next three games, then finally getting a win in its last game against Davidson. In that last game, Appalachian State scored 7 goals and will look to carry that offensive momentum into its game against Ohio this Friday. With both teams coming off of excellent offensive performances, expect a shootout game.
Match Two Information:
Opponent: Brown (1-3)
Location: Pruitt Field (Athens)
Date and Time: Saturday at 1 p.m.
Brown Notes:
Brown hasn't had the best performances this season, as two of its three losses have been very close. Even its win against Yale was a 2-1 victory, showing that all of its games besides the one outlier against UConn have been close. So far this season, Ohio has faired well against low-scoring opponents like Brown.
Players to Watch:
Ohio's forward Natalie LaFleur has stepped into the role of a big scorer after former grad student Katelyn Whittle. LaFleur has had a goal in three of the team's six games and has been a force on the offensive end, also putting pressure on the opponent's net every game. Another one of Ohio's forwards, Sasha Dikotla, has also scored a goal in three of six games played. Expect both of these offensive geared forwards to put in work against Appalachian State and Brown.
Appalachian State's midfielder Sophia Baxter scored 2 goals against Davidson in its most recent win. With the offensive firepower she provided, look for her to be a threat against Ohio's stout defense.
