On Monday morning, the Mid-American Conference released its annual women’s volleyball preseason coaches poll on its X (formerly Twitter) account. The Bobcats landed fifth on this year’s edition, earning 84 total points.
Additionally, junior opposite hitter Anna Kharchynska appeared on the Preseason All-MAC Team. Kharchynska had a productive season last year, ranking second for the Bobcats in kills with 340 and first in blocks with 94.
Last season, the poll was split into the East and West divisions, with Ohio earning the second-most points in the East and third-most overall. Ohio also had two Preseason All-MAC Team selectees with outside hitters Caitlin O’Farrell and Caroline Clippard, both of whom are no longer on the team.
O’Farrell, alongside Kharchynska, made the *2023 All-MAC First Team after last season, with outside hitter Kam Hunt earning a spot on the All-MAC Freshman Team. Hunt and Kharchynska will both be returning as feature players for Ohio.
