Deputies responded to New England Road in Stewart for a protection order violation, according to the Athens County Sheriff’s Office. 

Deputies found a person in breach of the protection order on scene and arrested a party. 

The person was moved to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail, according to the Sheriff’s Office. 

Slow down

Deputies patrolled U.S. Route 50 in Coolville for a reckless driver, according to the Sheriff’s Office. They were unable to locate the driver. 

Hey, wait a minute 

While on patrol in Athens, deputies were flagged down, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies spoke with the person and called Athens City Police to assist. 

Police officers spoke with the person and sent them to the hospital for a mental health evaluation, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Naturally connecting with nature

Deputies were dispatched to State Route 7 and Frost Road to assist the Ohio Department of Natural Resources with a nude male in the river, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies found the man and determined he had mental health issues. The man was transported to the hospital, according to the Sheriff’s Office. 

Who goes there 

A report of breaking and entering was taken on Johnson Road in The Plains, according to the Sheriff’s Office. 

Deputies spoke with the complainant on scene and took a statement. This incident remains under investigation. 

Plane crash 

A plane crashed near U.S. Route 50 at the Gordon K. Bush Ohio University Airport in Albany, according to the Sheriff’s Office. 

Athens County Emergency Medical Services checked all involved parties and found no major injuries.  

The Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the crash, according to the Sheriff’s Office. 

Did you hear that?  

Deputies were dispatched to a residence in Alexander Township for a possible trespasser but found no one in the immediate area, according to the Sheriff’s Office. 

The complainant allegedly said they didn’t feel safe and would like to speak to a counselor, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Oops, forgot the gas

Deputies responded to Perry Ridge Road in Nelsonville for a report of an abandoned vehicle, according to the Sheriff’s Office. 

The individual allegedly said they ran out of fuel, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle was removed from the roadway. 

Slumber party in the post office 

Deputies responded to the Chauncy Post Office for a trespassing complaint and found three individuals on the floor, according to the Sheriff’s Office. 

Deputies told the individuals they would have to find another place to sleep, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Gone girl  

Deputies responded to a call from Vore Ridge Road for a well-being check, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies spoke with the individual’s father, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The father allegedly said his daughter was at the house the day before, but he didn’t know where she was.

No further action was taken. 

Parking lots can be dangerous  

A woman came into the Athens County Sheriff’s Office to report her vehicle was struck by another vehicle in a parking lot in The Plains, according to the Sheriff’s Office. 

The moving vehicle left the scene before damage was noted, according to the Sheriff’s Office. A report was taken. 

Fight or flight

Deputies responded to Albany for a fight, according to the Sheriff’s Office. One party fled before the deputies arrived and hasn’t been identified. 

One individual was highly intoxicated and was transported to the hospital for self-induced injuries, according to the Sheriff’s Office. 

The fun got serious  

Deputies went to Dover Township for a possible drug overdose, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies arrived on the scene and stayed until Athens County EMS arrived. 

ACEMS took the individual to the hospital, and deputies returned to patrol, according to the Sheriff’s Office. 

Abandoned bike

Deputies responded to Washington Road in Albany to check on an abandoned bicycle, according to the Sheriff’s Office. 

Deputies determined the bicycle wasn’t stolen and no further action was taken. 

Give it back 

Deputies went to Carol Lanes in The Plains to do a well-being check, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The woman allegedly had a disagreement with an ex-boyfriend over personal property, according to the Sheriff’s Office. 

Gunshots 

Deputies responded to Fairlawn Avenue for possible gunshots, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies patrolled the area but didn’t find anything.
