With the Mid-American Conference season closing this past weekend, the MAC end-of-season awards have been announced.
Last season, Ohio racked up several major awards and All-MAC mentions, including Ohio coach Jenna Hall winning Coach of the Year and Skipp Miller winning Freshman Pitcher of the Year. Additionally, Miller made the All-MAC First Team alongside Yasmine Logan and Annalia Paoli.
While Ohio didn’t win any major individual awards like last year, three of the team’s players found their way onto All-MAC teams.
Miller was selected to the All-MAC First Team for the second consecutive year after a season where she pitched a 2.61 ERA with 111 strikeouts and 22 complete games.
Also in Ohio’s pitching staff, freshman Mikie Lieving saw her name mentioned twice on the MAC’s awards list. Lieving was selected for the All-MAC Second Team and the All-MAC Freshman Team. In her freshman season, Lieving pitched to a 2.86 ERA.
The third Bobcat selected to an All-MAC team was Izzie Wilson who made it onto the conference’s second team. Wilson, another freshman, had an excellent season for Ohio, with a .307 batting average, 43 hits, 22 RBI and four home runs.
Miller, Lieving and Wilson will lead the Bobcats into the MAC Tournament, where they will play Ball State as the tournament’s No. 2 seed.
