After splitting the first series back from break, Ohio was looking to remind itself about what kind of team it truly was against Oswego State. Their first series back at home served as that reminder for the Bobcats as they swept the Lakers. Ohio showed off both its offensive and defensive skillset against Oswego State and proved that it was still a team to be reckoned with in the ACHA. Here are the numbers you need to know from the weekend.
100%
Ohio goaltender Garrett Alderman completely shut out Oswego State on Friday night, not letting through a single one of the team’s 21 shots on goal for a save percentage of 100%. Alderman has never played in a game that resulted in a loss for the Bobcats and earned his first-ever shut-out with Friday’s victory. He’s continued to prove himself, which has already garnered him more playing time than last season.
9
On Friday night, the Bobcats were able to score a total of 9 goals against the Lakers. They’ve only scored this many goals against one other team this season, which was when they completed another series sweep against Niagara. The rookie Drew Gardner stepped up quite a bit, earning 3 assists and scoring his first goal for the Bobcats.
4
Noah Holt was able to score 4 goals over the course of the weekend, solidifying his spot as the player with the third-most points on the team. He earned a hat trick on Friday, his third goal being the ninth and final score of the game, while his goal on Saturday was one that was assisted by Gardner. Holt has been a consistent offensive performer for the Bobcats, and it seems like the break didn’t halt his abilities at all.
100
Luc Reeve officially earned 100 career points after his two assists in Friday night’s game. Reeve was a breakthrough star for Ohio last year, becoming the leading scorer in the ACHA and earning both Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year. His spark hasn’t dwindled, as he currently has the most points out of all the Bobcats and has a career continuing on an upward trajectory.
