Wrestlers to Watch:
Brayden Palmer(Chattanooga), Luke Acuna, Nate Barrett(Ashland)
As stated above, Palmer took home SoCon Wrestler of the Week after an incredible outing at the Clarion Open. Barrett managed to score 23 points in an awe-inspiring field of wrestlers, headlined by some of the top-ranked wrestlers in the country.
A big part of Ashland’s success in the Glenville State Invitation was the performances of Luke Acuna and Nate Barrett. Acuna, a redshirt freshman, dominated the 125 weight class scoring a total of 21 points for the Eagles. Barrett was Ashland’s other top placer, placing first in the 174 weight class netting 20.5 points. This performance is what helped Barrett take home the Great Midwest Wrestler of the Week.
