A local family-run business, The Farmacy Natural and Speciality Foods, located at 28 W. Stimson Ave., announced on its Facebook page it would shut its doors for good.
The store has served the Athens community for 53 years, supplying people with grocery food items, essential oils, health and beauty products, and a deli serving sandwiches and smoothies.
While it is undetermined when the health food store will officially close, anyone interested in staying informed about the store’s next phase can leave their name, email address and social media contact on The Farmacy’s Facebook and Instagram pages and website.
