On Sunday, Ohio soccer hit the road for the first time this season and drew 1-1 against Navy to maintain its early-season unbeaten streak.
In the 11th minute, sophomore Scout Murray scored a goal off of an assist from Izzi Boyd to put the Bobcats up 1-0 early in Annapolis. This is Murray’s second goal in the young season*. Ohio maintained the advantage into halftime after outshooting the Midshipmen 8-5 as both teams made three saves.
Navy opened the second half and immediately equalized thanks to a solo strike by Amanda Graziano, her first goal of the season. Despite the early mishap, Ohio statistically dominated the half; they shot six more times than the Midshipmen and the only shot on goal that they conceded was Graziano’s contribution.
Ohio forward and midfielder Jaimason Brooker was shown a yellow card in the 79th minute.
After the two went back and forth in the second period, each making plays on defense, the draw stood as the final result.
The Bobcats travel to Marshall on Thursday for their fourth of seven non-conference matches to start the year.
