Baseball: What to know about Eastern Michigan

Ohio got a much-needed series win last weekend at Northern Illinois, taking two of three games. Its bats were especially hot, scoring a combined 27 runs in the two victories. 

The Bobcats continue Mid-American Conference play on Friday as they welcome Eastern Michigan to Athens. Both teams are vying for victories to propel themselves out of the middle of the conference pack.

Gideon Antle  — Last weekend, the junior from Licking, Missouri, hit his first home run of the season in Ohio’s second win of the series against Northern Illinois — a timely grand slam that brought the Bobcat comeback campaign within two runs after they fell behind 10-0 after the first inning.
