When deputies arrived, they found no indication of breaking and entering. The storage unit was locked and secured with no evidence of tampering.

A deputy talked to a caller over the phone regarding a complaint of becoming sick after eating food on Depot Street in Albany, according to the Athens County Sheriff's Office.
The deputy found that nothing criminal had occurred.
No Place Like Home
While patrolling Dover Township, deputies were flagged down by an individual who claimed they had seen a person near a storage unit at night, according to the Athens County Sheriff's Office. The individual told the deputy they believed the person was living in the unit.
Deputies located the unit and discovered it was not secure but found no evidence that someone was living there. The business owner was contacted and informed deputies that she knew the unit was open and had maintenance scheduled to repair the issue.

According to the Athens County Sheriff's Office, a Village of Albany resident spoke with deputies regarding an attempted fraud scam. The caller told deputies he received a threatening text message from an anonymous source after he declined the scam.
Attempts were made to locate the message's origin, but deputies could not do so because it was sent with a ghost number.
