On Friday, Ohio University announced further mask guidance for the upcoming fall semester.
The COVID-19 level has reduced to medium since OU’s previous announcement on July 29. According to a university-wide email, this reduction in risk also reduces masking requirements.
Masks are now recommended in classrooms and other indoor settings but are not required. A few notable exceptions to this include COVID-19 testing sites and OU campus care, where masks continue to be required.
The exceptions to any masking requirement are as follows: those with qualifying circumstances, including children under two, those who are actively eating or drinking, those with health exemptions and those in settings where wearing a mask is not reasonable.
