The Athens City-County Health Department reported one new COVID-related death Friday.
The coronavirus death total in Athens County has reached 138 with that death.
The health department also reported there are a total of 87 active cases of COVID-19 in the county, including the most recent report of 19 new cases.
With the positivity rate at 3.1%, Athens is still considered “low” for community spread by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
