Ohio University President Hugh Sherman announced Friday that Terry Hogan will be the university’s new interim vice president for student affairs, effective Monday.
Hogan has worked within the university’s student affairs division for nearly three decades, serving as senior associate vice president and dean of students before becoming a dean of students emeritus, according to a university news release. He most recently served as vice president for student affairs at the University of Northern Iowa before retiring in 2016.
“Terry’s strong institutional knowledge and dedication to student life will serve OHIO well,” Sherman said in the release. “I am confident that he will provide seamless leadership as he undertakes this critical role.”
Sherman announced in December a search for the role after Jenny Hall-Jones, the current interim vice president for student affairs, announced she would depart OU at the end of January to become vice president for student affairs at Grand Valley State University. Hall-Jones and Hogan will work together at the beginning of his tenure to “ensure a smooth leadership transition,” according to the release.
