Ohio University announced Monday that it will adopt updated COVID-19 quarantine and isolation recommendations, requiring those infected with the virus to self-isolate for only five days in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, or CDC.
Additionally, those who have been exposed to COVID-19 and who have received a primary vaccination series as well as a booster shot are required to wear a mask around others for at least 10 days and test on day five, according to a university news release.
Individuals who are not vaccinated or who are vaccinated but not yet boosted will be required to quarantine for at least five days, test on day five and wear a mask around others for an additional five days after quarantine.
If symptoms occur, individuals must stay home and quarantine regardless of vaccination status.
