The Athens City-County Health Department announced Monday that three more people had died from COVID-19 in the county between Friday and Sunday.
The new deaths bring the total death count in the county to 92, up from 89 deaths reported Nov. 3. There are also 245 total active cases of COVID-19 in the county and 86 new cases, though that number includes some previous cases that were transferred from other jurisdictions, according to the department.
Additionally, the county remains in the red risk level of the Ohio Public Health Advisory System, indicating a very high level of exposure to and spread of the virus.
So far, 48.83% of residents in the county have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and 45.88% of residents are fully vaccinated.
