The Athens City-County Health Department reported an additional COVID-19 death some time between Friday and Sunday, bringing the total death count to 96.
Currently, there are 231 active cases of COVID-19 in the county, 36 of which are new cases. The number of active cases has stayed mostly stagnant since 228 active cases were reported Nov. 22.
So far, 50.56% of county residents have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 46.48% have completed their vaccination cycle.
